1 Amp,
100 Volt Schottky Bridge Rectifier. The CBRHDSH1-100 is ideal for both first and second generation Power over Ethernet (PoE) designs, as well as general purpose full wave rectification and reverse polarity protection applications. With a typical VF of 0.7V at 1 Amp, this device is well suited for portable battery and high efficiency applications such as: modems, routers, portable test equipment, and LED lighting systems.

The two main advantages of this new Schottky Bridge are reduced size and energy efficiency. The HD DIP utilizes 50% less board space than 4 individual SMA rectifiers in a bridge configuration. In terms of energy efficiency, the CBRHDSH1-100 uses 36% less energy to perform the same function as a standard bridge rectifier.

August 16, 2006 - Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the new CMF5.0A Series transient voltage suppressors (TVS) packaged in the SOD-123F surface mount package. The series includes reverse stand-off voltages from 5.0V thru 170V all with a peak power of 200W. Designed for protecting sensitive electronic components from high voltage transients, these new devices are ideal for industrial, computer, consumer electronics, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications.

The SOD-123F, with outline dimensions of 1.8 x 2.8 x 0.98 mm, is essentially the same size as the SOD-123, but that is where the similarity ends. The SOD-123F has flat leads providing better circuit board contact area and higher power handling capability compared with the SOD-123's gull wing leads. The most notable difference with the SOD-123F is the entirely unique internal construction utilizing a jumper bar to attach the top of the chip to the lead frame. This design provides increased power dissipation capability and allows larger chips to be assembled in this tiny SMD package; opening the possibility for a new generation of smaller higher power devices.

July 26, 2006 - Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CYT5551D and CYT5551HCD dual transistors packaged in the new eight (8) lead SOT-228 surface mount case and are ideal for high voltage amplifier applications. These new devices are 160 Volt NPN transistors with a maximum VCE(SAT) of 0.20V @ 50mA and a minimum hFE of 80. The CYT5551D has an IC rating of 600mA, while the CYT5551HCD boasts a 1.0A IC rating. These dual devices utilize 50% less board space than 2 individual devices packaged in the SOT-223 case. Central also manufactures a dual 400 Volt NPN device (CYTA44D) packaged in the same SOT-228 case.

New, CMKTC825A - Temperature Compensated Zener Diode

June 13, 2006 - Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CMKTC825A temperature compensated (TC) Zener diode packaged in a space saving ULTRAmini SOT-363 surface mount case. This new device is the World's first TC Zener in a plastic surface mount package. Utilizing a new proprietary process technique, the CMKTC825A provides a highly stable reference voltage of 6.2V with only a small change of less than 0.28mV/¢XC over the temperature range of -55¢XC to +100¢XC. This is a considerable improvement compared to a standard Zener diode, which typically exhibits a voltage change of 500mV over the same temperature range, In addition, the CMKTC825A occupies only 4.2mm² of circuit board space and has a low profile of 1.0mm.

Designed for applications requiring extremely stable voltage reference over temperature, the CMKTC825A is ideal for use in high stability oscillators, digital volt/frequency meters, analog-to-digital converters, and precision DC power supplies. End products for this device include test equipment, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment.

April 19, 2006 - Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the world's smallest Schottky bridge rectifiers, packaged in the HD DIP surface mount case. The CBRHDSH1-40L (1 Amp) and CBRHDSH2-40 (2 Amp) devices are 40 Volt low VF bridge rectifiers with a typical VF of 0.39V @ 1.0A and 0.45V @ 2.0A, respectively.

These energy efficient devices are ideal for battery powered circuits requiring a small signal full wave bridge. Compared to the larger SMDIP surface mount package, the HD DIP case is 57% smaller, and utilizes 60% less board space. 60 Volt and 100 Volt versions of both 1 Amp and 2 Amp devices are currently in development.

World's Smallest Darlington Transistor

Hauppauge, NY USA - March 28, 2006 - Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CMLT6427E, the world's smallest Darlington transistor. Packaged in the PICOmini™ SOT-563 surface mount case, this new device utilizes 62% less board space, and has a 40% lower profile than the industry standard SOT-23. The CMLT6427E is a 40 Volt, 0.5 Amp NPN Darlington transistor with a low VCE(SAT) of 0.8V at 50mA and minimum hFE of 25,000. In addition to meeting all standard specifications, the CMLT6427E offers enhanced specifications for ICEO, BVCBO, BVCES, BVEBO, VCE(SAT), and hFE.

The CMLT6427E is ideal for circuits requiring an efficient small signal amplifier with low saturation voltage and high hFE.

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the new CMMR1U series of 1.0 Amp Ultra Fast rectifiers in the flat lead SOD-123F surface mount package. This new series has peak repetitive reverse voltages of 200V (CMMR1U-02), 400V (CMMR1U-04), and 600V (CMMR1U-06). The maximum reverse recovery time (trr) is 35ns for the CMMR1U-02, 50ns for the CMMR1U-04, and 75ns for the CMMR1U-06. The CMMR1U series is suitable for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, entertainment, computer, and automotive applications requiring a very fast reverse recovery time. Typically these rectifiers are packaged in the much larger SMA case. The CMMR1U series in the SOD-123F utilizes 49% less board space than the SMA, and has a 57% lower profile. announces the release of the CMLT5551HC High Current (HC) NPN transistor. This new device has a high collector-to-emitter voltage (VCEO) of 160 volts and a maximum collector current (IC) of 1.0 Amp. Compared with the collector current of a standard 5551 device (600mA), the 5551HC increases the current handling by 400mA. In addition, by utilizing four (4) bonding leads to the collector, the CMLT5551HC provides an increased power dissipation of 100mW for a total of 350mW. The CMLT5551HC is a single discrete device packaged in a PICOmini™ SOT-563 surface mount case. It has a maximum case height of 6.0mm and utilizes 60% less board space than an industry standard SOT-23. This new device is ideal for applications requiring a high current and high voltage amplifier in a tiny surface mount package.

March 22, 2005 ¡V Hauppauge, NY USA - March 22, 2005 - Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the new CMDSH05-4 energy efficient high current/low VF Schottky diode packaged in a SUPERmini™ SOD-323 package.  This device offers a high continuous forward current of 500mA and a low maximum VF specification of 0.35V at 100mA and 0.47V at 500mA. The CMDSH05-4 is ideal for motor control and DC-DC applications in portable battery powered electronics. Central Semiconductor's EED Schottky diodes typically have a forward voltage drop of at least 50% less than non-EED™ diodes. The SOD-323 surface mount package offers a nominal profile under 1.0 mm and compared to an SOD-123 utilizes 49% less circuit board space.

Multi Discrete Modules: Transistor and Diode combination in a PICOmini™ SOT-563 Package.
Hauppauge, NY USA ¡V March 15, 2005 ¡V Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the introduction of a new family of discrete semiconductor devices called Multi Discrete Modules™ (MDM™). The first two devices to be introduced in this family are the CMLM0405 and CMLM0605. The CMLM0405 combines an isolated 60 Volt, Low VCE(SAT) NPN Transistor and a 0.5 Amp, Low VF Schottky diode. The complimentary CMLM0605 is an isolated 60 Volt, Low VCE(SAT) PNP Transistor and a 0.5 Amp, Low VF Schottky diode. The combination of these devices is ideal for motor control and DC-DC circuit applications.

The MDM™ family represents Central¡¦s first effort to utilize the benefit of different semiconductor devices in the same package. Packaged in a PICOmini™ SOT-563 surface mount case, the CMLM0405 and CMLM0605 offer a low profile of under 0.6mm and require 65% less circuit board space when compared to a combination of an SOT-523 transistor and an SOD-523 Schottky diode.

Single and Dual Low Leakage Switching Diodes in SOT-23 Case...


February 25, 2005 ¡V Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of three (3) new energy efficient low leakage diodes. The CMDD3003, CMOD3003 and CMLD3003DO all offer a maximum leakage specification of 1.0nA and a 180 Volt reverse voltage rating. These devices have a leakage specification significantly lower than non-EED™ diodes and are ideal for portable battery powered products requiring longer stand-by time.

The SUPERmini™ CMDD3003 consists of a single device packaged in an SOD-323 surface mount case with a nominal profile of less than 1.0mm. The ULTRAmini™ CMOD3003 is a single low leakage, high voltage diode in an SOT-523 surface mount package with a profile of under 0.8mm The PICOmini™ CMLD3003DO, in an SOT-563 surface mount package, includes two low leakage/high voltage diodes isolated from one another with opposing polarities and a maximum package profile of 0.6mm.

In the past, this series was only available in four (4) configurations of an SOT-23 package: single, dual common anode, dual common cathode, and dual in series. With the addition of these three (3) new package options, the 3003 series of low leakage/high voltage diodes satisfies a broader range of smaller electronic products.

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CBR50-020P Series (Case FP) 50 Amp full wave bridge rectifiers. These new devices have the highest current rating for bridge rectifiers in the Case FP package. The series is available with a maximum peak repetitive voltage rating of 200, 400, 600, 800 or 1000 volts.

Case FP has four fast-on terminals and a large metal heat sink for maximum heat dissipation and low thermal resistance. The center of the device has a mounting hole for a #10 screw. The epoxy molding compound has UL Flammability Rating 94V-0.

February 1, 2005 ¡V Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of three new EED™ (Energy Efficient Device) low leakage diodes. The CMDSH2-4L, CMOSH2-4L and CMUSH2-4L all consist of a single Schottky diode chip providing a maximum current specification of 200mA and a low maximum forward voltage drop of 0.5V at 200mA. A standard 200mA Schottky diode normally specifies a maximum VF value of 1.0 volt or greater. Central Semiconductor¡¦s EED™ Schottky diodes typically have forward voltage drops of at least 50% less than non-EED™ diodes.

The SUPERmini™ CMDSH2-4L packaged in the SOD-323 surface mount package offers a nominal profile under 1.0 mm. If an even lower profile is required, the ULTRAmini™ CMOSH2-4L in the SOD-523, or the ULTRAmini™ CMUSH2-4L in the SOT-523, both feature a profile under 0.8mm. All these devices are ideal for portable electronics where energy efficiency for longer battery life is a necessity.

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CMDSH-4E Enhanced Specification SUPERmini™ surface mount Schottky diode. This new diode is rated at 40V (max) peak repetitive reverse voltage, more than a 30% increase compared with the standard CMDSH-3 device. The average forward current of the CMDSH-4E is 200mA (max), which is two times the current of the CMDSH-3. In addition the CMDSH-4E exhibits a typical low forward voltage drop of 0.37V and a fast t rr of 5nS (max).

Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the CMLDM7002A, Dual N-Channel Enhancement-mode DMOS FET. This new PICOmini™ device is the smallest Dual DMOS FET and provides improved specifications when compared to the industry standard 2N7002 device type. The CMLDM7002A consists of two individual 7002A DMOS FETs manufactured by the N-Channel DMOS process, and is epoxy molded in a six lead SOT-563 surface mount package. The SOT-563 utilizes 68% less board space than an equivalent device packaged in a SOT-26 case. announces the release of the CZSH5-40, the smallest surface mount 5 Amp Power Schottky Rectifier packaged in the small signal SOT-223 case. This new device is a single 5.0 Amp, 40 Volt chip manufactured by the epitaxial planar process and designed to meet high current DC/DC or AC/DC rectification applications for all types of commercial, industrial, entertainment, computer and automotive products.

Manufactured by the N-Channel DMOS Process the CMXDM7002A is perfect for motor control, high speed pulsed amplifier and general purpose line driver applications. Central Semiconductor Corp. announces the release of the new 6263 series of High Voltage, Low Current, Low VF Schottky Diodes.  Manufactured in a wide variety of SMD packages, including the SUBONE package profile, the 6263 series offers designers a higher 70 Volt VRRM plus a desirable 410 mV max. forward voltage drop.  This series is based on the original 1N6263 and 1N5711 devices.  
These new devices include the CMPD6263 series in the industry standard SOT-23 case and the CMSD6263 series in the approximately 30% smaller SOT-323 case.
